Visit Galle Fort

The Galle Fort is the most known landmark of the southern region of Sri Lanka. It has a mixture of both the colonial legacy and modern-day amenities. This is a World Heritage Site. In addition to the fortress, many other historical landmarks can be visited during Galle Fort tours. The city of Galle as we see today was first founded by Portuguese explorers in the 1500s. Later, the Dutch captured it and fortified the town. This led to the creation of the now famous Galle Fort.
